Just how disastrous was his vote for the horrid Senate health care legislation? 64% of Nebraskans disapprove of the bill. In fact, Nelson trails his closest re-election competitor by about 30%. And he’s only up for re-election in 2012.

Which brings us to another point. Nelson is running defensive ads 3 years before his re-election bid. Not just ads, mind you, but defensive ads. That shows desperation.

Oh, and he’s lying. The legislation doesn’t protect Medicare, it guts Medicare. The legislation won’t reduce the deficit, the deficit will increase. And the new system will ultimately be run and driven by the federal government.

But we already knew Nelson’s a liar. He strongly opposed federal funding for abortions….until Harry Reid gave him $100 million in appropriations. Then it was okey dokey.
