Oklahoma’s Democratic Attorney General, Drew Edmondson, has joined the fight mounted by 12 other attorneys general against the Senate’s deal with Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE). The deal, which was reached to ensure a “yea” vote from Nelons, excludes Nebraska from having to pay for Medicaid increases.
Edmondson questions whether the deal is even constitutional. While the other forty-nine states would be forced to self-fund the Medicaid increases, Nebraska’s share would be funded by the federal taxpayers. In other words, one state is being treated better by Congress than the other forty-nine.
