Obama: You Know, We Should Probably Slow Down

Yeah, seems like a good idea. Seeing as how Democrats are losing U.S. Senate seats in states where their own party members outnumber Republicans by about 3 to 1. One would think a change of course, or at least hesitance to go forward, is warranted at this point.

This puts Obama in an odd position. Liberal activists are calling for reconciliation, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are planning on going full speed ahead, Evan Bayh is ringing alarms about the far-left taking over the Democratic Party, Anthony Weiner (D-NY) is warning about the need for a course correction, and the media is writing ObamaCare’s obituary.

And then there’s Obama calling for the passage of certain aspects but a delay until Brown has been seated. That last part due to the fact that moving forward without the democratically-elected senator would be tantamount to political suicide.

Awkward.
