The UN World Food Program’s warehouses in Haiti have been looted, the Washington Post reports. The organization is trying to determine how much of its supplies were left behind by looters. Nothing says class like looting warehouses of emergency supplies in the process of being distributed. So classy.

Goodness. WASHINGTON – Some 800 infantry soldiers and a Navy aircraft carrier are bound for Haiti to aid the massive relief effort under way, the first major influx of U.S. troops since the catastrophe struck. The troops, expected to arrive Friday, were a clear sign that President Barack Obama was intent on rescuing the ravaged [...]

Being a political ally of the Democratic Party clearly has its financial benefits. Everyone with a so-called “Cadillac” health insurance plan will be taxed under Congressional health care reform legislation. Everyone, that is, except unions who backed the Obama campaign. The White House on Thursday cut a deal with its closest labor allies to blunt [...]

Warning: Information contained in the following post is disturbing. Martha Coakley is running for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts as a law enforcement candidate, talking up her record on convictions. The media has been all-to-willing to help further that narrative. But is she really the law enforcer she claims? Alas, no. One particular case comes to [...]

Democracy is really starting to cripple the liberal style. This whole process of letting the people determine their own future through voting and activism? Starting to get in the way of the left-wing agenda. It’s become a real problem. So liberals are responding by removing decisions from the hands of the people. First the Washington, [...]

I’ve donated to the American Red Cross and I intend to continue doing what I can to help the people of Haiti in their time of need. It’s very much a human thing to do. But, as Jim Geraghty says, Rush Limbaugh was right. Here’s what the conservative talker said: We’ve already donated to Haiti. [...]

Boston Globe Completely Misrepresents Brown Comments

The media misrepresenting candidate statements is nothing new, of course, but rarely is the misrepresentation quite this jaw-dropping. The Boston Globe didn’t just abandon journalistic ethics and professionalism. It murdered ethics while professionalism watched, after which point the paper buried professionalism alive. Props to Greg Sargent of WhoRunsGov — a Washington Post operatation — for [...]

Democrats Agree to Exempt Unions from New Tax

It’s not only a way to reward the liberal-supporting unions for their activism. It’s a move intended to get unions that opposed the tax to once again side with Democrats on health care reform. And, of course, it’ll work. It’s not that unions opposed the tax; it’s that unions opposed being subjected to the tax. [...]

Wow: Police Unions Endorse Scott Brown

How bad are things for Democrats when unions in Massachusetts — Massachusetts — are backing Republican senatorial candidates? Probably about as bad as when political aides resort to physically assaulting reporters who are asking tough questions. Oh, did I mention one of the unions is affiliated with SEIU, which is typically supportive of liberal candidates? [...]

IRS Chief: Tax Code Too Complex For Me

14. January 2010

The complexity of the American tax system has left the head of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) unable to file his own tax return. In a shocking admission, Commissioner Douglas Shulman exposes just how difficult it is to navigate the current tax structure. And he leaves us with this question: If the head of the [...]
