Dem Illinois Nominee Has More Baggage Than A Southwest Flight

Seriously, this guy wouldn’t pass a background check at your local McDonalds. And yet Scott Lee Cohen is the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor in Illinois. So let’s review what we know so far:

  • He was arrested for domestic assault a few years back, accused by the prostitute he was with of holding a knife to her throat.
  • His wife had a protection order taken out against him during their divorce hearings.
  • He has a known history of federal tax problems.

Today we learn more about Cohen’s charming background. CBS2 Chicago reports:

  • Cohen was sued by his brother, who won the case, for $200,000.
  • His ex-wife has accused him of trying to choke her before they got married.
  • The same ex-wife would appreciate it if Cohen would actually start paying the child support he’s supposed to pay.
  • She also accuses him of trying to force her to have sex, which is totally unbelievable between his time with a prostitute and history of domestic abuse.

Did I mention Democrats still nominated him to be one breath away from governorship of Illinois? Yeah, apparently the local Level 3 sex offender was too busy.
