ClimateGate Scientist: No Warming Since 1995

by Stephan Tawney on February 14, 2010

The climatologist at the center of the “ClimateGate” scandal has admitted that the Earth hasn’t warmed in over a decade. Phil Jones, who resigned after leaked emails from the Climate Research Unit showed that scientists were manufacturing data and hiding real results, dates the last increase in temperature back to 1995.

Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no ‘statistically significant’ warming.

Really? You mean the Earth’s climate might just go in cycles? Which would explain why it regularly goes through ice ages and then warming periods? I’m shocked. Next you’re going to tell me that carbon dioxide, which the EPA now considers a pollutant, is actually used by plants to produce oxygen. You know, the stuff we need to breathe.

The Climate Research Unit isn’t some obscure organization based in someone’s basement. Its research, which we now know to be fraudulent, is the basis for claims made from everyone from Al Gore to Prince Charles. The research supposedly demonstrated that we would all die unless we invested trillions of dollars, handed over personal freedoms, and destroyed our economies in the name of being “green”.

And recently we’ve been learning of fraudulent data from the IPCC, the global warming unit for the United Nations. The organization has admitted that research on topics like melting Himalayan glaciers actually came from global warming activists with no scientific background.

The fraud that is global warming alarmism is quickly being exposed for what it has been all along: The global left’s latest phony excuse for stripping away personal freedoms, national sovereignty, and economic progress.
