President Barack Obama has brought corruption in the health care debate to a whole new level today. As reported by the Weekly Standard, Obama has named the brother of an undecided Democrat to a federal appeals court.
In a statement from the White House, the president announced his appointment of Scott M. Matheson, Jr. to the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
“Scott Matheson is a distinguished candidate for the Tenth Circuit court,” President Obama said. “Both his legal and academic credentials are impressive and his commitment to judicial integrity is unwavering. I am honored to nominate this lifelong Utahn to the federal bench.”

Matheson is the brother of Representative Jim Matheson (D-UT), one of the ten undecided Congressmen liberals are trying to persuade to vote in favor of health care reform legislation. The appointment’s announcement happens to come on the same day Obama announced his latest drive for passage of the legislation.
So is the White House trying to buy votes? It’s hardly out of the question. Representative Joe Sestak (D-PA) is running against Senator Arlen Specter (D-PA) in the US Senate Democratic primary. He says the White House offered him a federal job to drop out of the race. So bribes are nothing new for this administration.
Update: Hot Air.
