You know, I actually hate classifying psychopaths into political categories. They’re psychopaths and in no way represent the views of the majority of a major political ideology, left or right. But the media have already begun labeling him a right-wing extremist, so defense is necessary.

As we learned last night, John Patrick Bedell, who opened fire and was killed near the main entrance to the Pentagon, was as anti-Bush as the day is long. He also opposed the war in Iraq and, in fact, blamed the Bush Administration for the 9/11 attacks. In short, he was an anti-Bush 9/11 Truther.

Still, that news didn’t prevent certain members of the media from tying him to the right-wing and its pro-small government activist groups. Okay, fine. How about this?

Bedell was a registered Democrat, and maintained his registered status in that party as late as 2008.

Anti-Bush, 9/11 Truth, Democratic-registered nutjob who attempted to attack a military institution.

Why, he must be a Tea Partier!
