Any member of Congress who states her intention to overthrow the democratic process and usurp the United States Constitution should be deemed unsuitable for office. That’s exactly what Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-NY) is trying to do.
The rule she has proposed would deem legislation passed without an actual vote. That means that, in direct violation of the United States Constitution, legislation would be passed into law without the House of Representatives passing it.
Basically, the majority party could send any bill to the president’s desk without actually putting it up for a majority vote. That’s not democracy. It’s oligarchical at best, outright tyranny at worst.
So Mark Levin is right. Slaughter should be expelled from Congress. Someone who actually states her intention to ignore the Constitution and our system of government should not be serving in the legislative branch.
