House Democrats have officially abandoned the Constitution and facade of legislative process. In an ironic vote, Democrats endorsed the so-called “Slaughter Strategy” that permits the passage of government-run health care without the House of Representatives actually voting on the legislation.

That’s right. In a 222-203 vote, House Democrats asserted their belief that Congress doesn’t actually have to vote on legislation. Instead, Nancy Pelosi and her cronies can ignore the Constitution and just “deem” legislation passed. In short, oligarchy instead of democracy.

Welcome to Barack Obama’s America, where Congress doesn’t even vote on legislation any more. Powerful politicians just decide legislation is law.
