House Democrats voted twice tonight to force taxpayers to fund abortion-on-demand procedures.
The first vote came with the government-run health care legislation itself, the second as the majority party voted down a measure to ban public funding of unnecessary abortions.
Among the supports of federal abortion funding were many self-professed pro-life Democrats, who turned out to be pro-abortion in the end. (Ahem.)
The votes essentially repeal the decades-old Hyde Amendment, which restricted taxpayer-funded abortions to those necessary to save the life of the mother or in cases of rape or incest. Now your tax dollars will go to pay for abortions-on-demand.
