Obama Begins Funding ACORN Again

by Stephan Tawney on March 21, 2010

The Obama Administration is once again funneling taxpayer funds to the radical and corrupt far-left organization ACORN, which is reportedly on the verge of bankruptcy.

The return of funding comes as the organization — which is under investigation for voter fraud and has several former employees in prison for the same — helps push his government-run health care legislation.

In a memo sent to all federal agencies, OMB director Peter Orszag — a far-left partisan himself — directs funding to be restored immediately.

The fiscal floodgates will soon re-open for ACORN despite a congressional ban on funding the activist group that has long been a practitioner of election fraud.

In a March 16 memo Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Peter Orszag ordered federal agencies to resume funding the group whose employees were caught on hidden camera videos last year condoning and encouraging a variety of crimes including child prostitution and tax evasion.

Obama himself worked with ACORN during his community organizing days back in the 1990′s. The organization helped turn out large numbers of minority voters for candidate Obama, even going as far as registering fake names like “Mickey Mouse” to vote. So they have a long and sordid history together.

All of this comes after ACORN, as in the national organization, was indicted in Nevada for election fraud. As Matthew Vadum reports, jury selection will begin this summer.
