A federal judge has released one of the most dangerous terrorists in the world, one the planners of the 9/11 attacks, to rejoin the world and go back to planning attacks against the United States.
Not due to lack of evidence, mind you, but because the terrorist in question — Mohamedou Ould Slahi — was interrogated after being captured. Yes, our trying to stop future attacks means we have to release a dangerous terrorist.
A suspected al Qaeda organizer once called “the highest value detainee” at Guantánamo Bay was ordered released by a federal judge in an order issued Monday.
Mohamedou Ould Slahi was accused in the 9/11 Commission report of helping recruit Mohammed Atta and other members of the al Qaeda cell in Hamburg, Germany, that took part in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Military prosecutors suspected Mr. Slahi of links to other al Qaeda operations, and considered seeking the death penalty against him while preparing possible charges in 2003 and 2004.
U.S. District Judge James Robertson granted Mr. Slahi’s petition for habeas corpus, effectively finding the government lacked legal grounds to hold him. The order was classified, although the court said it planned to release a redacted public version in the coming weeks.
Mr. Robertson held four days of closed hearings in the Slahi case last year. Mr. Slahi testified via secure video link from Guantánamo Bay, said his attorney.
“They were considering giving him the death penalty. Now they don’t even have enough evidence to pass the test for habeas,” said the attorney, Nancy Hollander, of Albuquerque, N.M.
Basically, fighting the war on terror like a criminal case has left us with two options: 1) Stopping future attacks; or 2) Letting terrorists responsible for past attacks go free. There’s no middle ground, no other option. You can save American lives or let terrorists walk free. All thanks to, what Ace calls, lawfare.
How about the Obama Administration tells us again how KSM will never be set free in a criminal trial? Because right now, I’m calling bullshit. If one 9/11 planner can be released by a federal judge, so can another.
Activist judges, terror attorneys, and the Obama Administration are slipping a noose around our collective neck. Al Qaeda and its allies will use their cooperation to drop the floor out from under us.

How long before someone with some balls starts using our constitution to protect our people instead of allowing these liberal judges to release terrorist, the next thing is we are going to have to pay them restitution, when is it going to piss enough of us off to do something anything.
