Senate Democrats Vote To Keep Backroom Deals

Fifty-four Senate Democrats voted to keep backroom deals and bribes in the government-run health care legislation, placing their own wheeling-and-dealing results above the best interests of their constituents.

Republicans had attempted to strip corrupt measures out of the legislation but don’t possess enough votes in either chamber to successfully alter bills supported by the Democratic majority.
