House Democrat: Guam Is Going To Tip If Its Population Keeps Growing!

by Stephan Tawney on March 31, 2010

No, it’s not a metaphor. Representative Hank Johnson (D-GA) is actually expressing his concern that the island of Guam will tip over into the sea because too many people are calling it home. Evidently he’s 100% serious here.

Who is the gentleman from the military who was able to keep a straight face throughout the entire debacle? Give him another medal. He deserves it.

Rest easy tonight, ladies and gentlemen. The future of America  is in the hands of people like Hank Johnson. You know, people who are making unprecedented power grabs in an effort to exert more control over your life. Because they think they’re smarter than you. So like I said, rest easy tonight.

Update: Awesome.

Update X2: The Hill can’t resist the snark:

Like other islands, Guam is attached to the sea floor, which makes it extremely unlikely that it will tip over, even if there are lots and lots of people on it.

By the way, Johnson? Voted for government-run health care. Because they’re smarter than you.
