Military Confirms: Reuters Journalists Surrounded by Hostiles

A follow-up to this posting. Wikileaks released video showing Apache helicopters shooting and killing individuals believed to be touting weapons and engaging in hostile activity against American forces. Among the dead were two Reuters journalists, however, so the reckless site labels the incident “collateral murder”.

Julian Assange of WikiLeaks released the video at the National Press Club in Washington. He described the U.S. troops as callous and the shootings as “another day at the office.”

“The behavior of the pilots is like they’re playing a video game,” said Assange. “It’s like they want to get high-scores in that computer game.”

Those murderous bastards! Unless, of course, the journalists were engaging in an ordinary activity for Reuters: Embedding with terrorists who shoot and kill our soldiers and innocent bystanders.

Asked to comment on the video, a senior military official at the Department of Defense told Fox News on the condition of anonymity that “an investigation of the incidents confirmed our belief that these attacks were justified.”

The individuals who were killed, apart from the Reuters journalists, were involved in hostile activity,” this official said.

Which is in line with what the video, outside of the commentary from Wikileaks, shows. The journalists are surrounded by men carrying weapons. The van that shows up to deal with the dead bodies has no marking that would indicate peaceful activity.

Reuters has a history of embedding journalists with terrorists in an effort to provide “objective” news. And the news agency isn’t alone. Anyone wonder how we get high-quality photos of Taliban fighter making bombs or setting up firing locations on mainstream media websites?

So apparently theĀ  US military is murderous and callous because it fired upon and killed two Reuters journalists who were embedded with terrorists in Iraq. That narrative just isn’t standing.

Once again the biased accusations of an activist organization smear our brave men and women. Wikileaks should go back to not having enough funding to function properly.
