“Where do we get the free Obama care…”

by Stephan Tawney on April 7, 2010

Democrats insist that opposition to government-run health care is rooted in false fears created by Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and the Republican Party. I actually think it’s the other way around: The reason opposition isn’t greater is due to false promises by Democrats and their adoring media accomplices.

Exhibit A:

Questions reflecting confusion have flooded insurance companies, doctors’ offices, human resources departments and business groups.

“They’re saying, ‘Where do we get the free Obama care, and how do I sign up for that?’” said Carrie McLean, a licensed agent for eHealthInsurance.com. The California-based company sells coverage from 185 health insurance carriers in 50 states.

McLean said the call center had been inundated by uninsured consumers who were hoping that the overhaul would translate into instant, affordable coverage. That widespread misconception may have originated in part from distorted rhetoric about the legislation bubbling up from the hyper-partisan debate about it in Washington and some media outlets, such as when opponents denounced it as socialism.

“We tell them it’s not free, that there are going to be things in place that help people who are low-income, but that ultimately most of that is not going to be taking place until 2014,” McLean said.

Where do you think these disappointed, uninsured Americans stood on government-run health care? The person who wants to sign up for that free health care immediately, the one who need it explained that “benefits” don’t kick-in until 2014, do you think he opposed the reform legislation? If so, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

And now how do you think the same individual feels about the legislation and those who rammed it through Congress? I’m thinking he’s a bit shocked, quite a bit disappointed, and likely angry. He was sold immediate universal health care and is getting some non-free benefits four years from now, which he’ll start paying for now.

These are the same idiots who thought Barack Obama would pay for their mortgage and fuel up their cars if only they elected him president. They’re moochers who have no basic understanding of economics. In short, a bunch of gullible morons.

Where do you sign up for free health care? At the same place you sign up for your free gas, free house, and Skittle-pooping unicorns.
