The Netherlands was honoring the victims of World War II when a sudden and unexplained panic ripped through the crowd, sparking a stampede of bystanders and the evacuation of the royal family. Dozens have been left injured.
Shortly after the incident began it ended, just as abruptly. Word came that nothing had actually occurred to spark the panic and the service went on, sans the dozens of injured attendees.

Update: Here’s the video. Amazing.

This panic is not that strange, since last year’s queens day, there was a man trying to attack the royal family, killing seven people. the dutch queensday is THE national holiday in the netherlands, so an attack at the royal family hit us very hard. So it’s not strange that when someone starts screaming in the two minutes of silence of the national WW2 memorial, a panic rips through the crowd.
