Pretty much all of the details available right now are in the headline. There has been a shooting outside MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, leaving one person dead. MacDill is home to Central Command, which will possibly become important in this story.

Update: MyFox Tampa Bay is reporting:

Reports indicate a man tried to crash through the gate, armed with a knife, and security guards shot him.

Okey dokey then. Something tells me this guy was a few fries short of a Happy Meal.

Update X2: Via CNN, the suspect was on a motorcycle. There was an altercation at the base Family Camp and he tried to flee through the gate. He was shot by base law enforcement and died.
