Why do the Israelis feel the need to maintain a blockade of Gaza? Because the Jewish state is under constant attack from its neighbors. Here’s the latest example. The IDF has thwarted a maritime terror attempt by Palestinians in wetsuits on their way to attack Israeli targets.
The Israeli navy opened fire on an armed Palestinians wearing diving suits and apparently on their way to attack Israel targets, the IDF said on Monday morning.
Gaza sources reported that four Palestinians were killed in what appears to have been a rare attempt at a seaborne attack on Israel.
This is just the latest attempt by Palestinians to attack Israeli interests.
Two weeks ago, IDF troops near the Gaza border escaped unharmed after a bomb planted by Palestinian militants exploded close to the border fence.
The explosion occurred after a wagon rolled over the bomb some 60 meters from the fence, near Moshav Nativ Ha’asarah.
The bombing came a day after two mortar shells fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza struck near the city of Ashkelon, without any casualties or damages reported….
In January a number of barrels packed with explosives were washed ashore in Israel after apparently being launched from Gaza. The Gaza-based militant group Islamic Jihad later claimed responsibility for launching the ‘bomb barrels’, none of which exploded.
Oddly enough, there was no noticeable outrage from the international community following those attempts by Palestinians to attack Israel. But Israeli commandos open fire in self defense because a pro-jihad flotilla’s participants decide to go to town with every conventional weapon under the sun? That draws widespread condemnation…of Israel.
Islamic terrorism against Israel is ignored even while Israel struggles to keep its citizens alive. The international community’s hypocrisy is appalling.
