As Allahpundit says, we now have an answer to the much-deliberated question: Could the daily press briefing possibly get worse if Robert Gibbs were to leave for the day? Answer: Yes, my friends, it could. It could get much worse.
Did you know that we all benefit when Barack Obama takes time to relax? Yeah, neither did I. But according to Bill Burton, who would give the Kim Jong-il propaganda machine a run for its money, that’s precisely the case.
Burton precedes this pathetic answer by insisting that Obama’s deserved some time off (you know, on top of the couple dozen golf trips he’s already made).
Sure the economy is still in the crapper, oil continues gushing into the Gulf, Iran continues its pursuit of nuclear weapons, there are two major ongoing wars, and doctors are turning away Medicare patients faster than ever before thanks to the recent health care reform legislation.
But Lincoln-Jesus was able to bully BP into establishing a $20 billion escrow account, so it’s vacation time! The Messiah needs some time away from his rigorous routine of bullshitting the country in between golfing and blaming George Bush for every problem under the sun. Oh, and exponentially increasing the deficit. That’s tiresome work, too.
Seriously, imagine the media reaction had the Bush Administration’s spokesman claimed that everyone benefits when Bush goes on vacation. The outrage would have been nuclear. But Marcus Aurelius here wants to golf, so all is forgiven.
