Democratic Poll: 55% Of Voters Consider Obama “Socialist”

The newest poll from Democracy Corps, the firm owned by Clinton Administration strategist James Carville, has some very troubling news for Democrats: A majority of voters consider Barack Obama to be “socialist”.

On “too liberal,” 35 percent of likely voters say it describes Obama “very well,” 21 percent say “well,” 21 percent say “not too well,” and 17 percent say “not well at all.” In other words, 56 percent of likely voters consider Obama too liberal.

When asked about “a socialist,” 33 percent of likely voters say it describes Obama “very well,” 22 percent say “well,” 15 percent say “not too well,” and 25 percent say “not well at all.”

In other words, 55 percent of likely voters think “socialist” is a reasonably accurate way of describing Obama.

Just one quarter of likely voters entirely reject the “socialist” label for Obama. 15% can apparently find better words but don’t entirely the reject the idea of him being socialist. The rest think “socialist” is a good label for his political views. Ouch.

The Obama Administration has no one to blame but itself for this ominous news. You don’t want to be labeled socialist? Don’t talk about redistributing wealth, hire admitted Communists for high-ranking positions, and answer every question with higher taxes and more regulation. Never mind endless expansions of entitlement programs.

If you walk like a socialist, talk like a socialist, and act like a socialist, people begin to think you might be a socialist.
