Poll: Boxer (D) Leads By Just One Point In California

Here’s more troublesome news for Democrats: Incumbent Senator Barbara Boxer is at serious risk of losing her race for re-election in one of the bluest states in the nation.

According to the latest poll, voters in deep-blue California prefer Boxer (D) to Republican challenger Carly Fiorina by just one percentage point. There are enough undecideds left over to determine the outcome of the race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in California shows Boxer with 44% support, while Fiorina picks up 43% of the vote. Five percent (5%) like another candidate in the race, and eight percent (8%) are undecided.

Fiorina has been gaining ground in recent weeks. Back in early August, Boxer held a five-point lead against her challenger. Back in July, that lead was seven points.

Fiorina has been chipping away at Boxer’s support, reminding voters of the failed tax-and-spend policies — supported by Boxer — that have prolonged the recession and left the United States in bad fiscal shape.

If a Republican is trailing by just one percent in deep-blue California then Democrats are in serious trouble. Democratic policies unpopular in California will find much less support in Florida, Nevada, or Indiana.
