So let’s see. The mosque will be headed by an imam who thinks we deserved the 9/11 attacks and who supports the brutal sharia legal system, and it will be developed by another guy who hasn’t paid his taxes and has a criminal record.
And yet Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and President Barack Obama all support building this mosque at Ground Zero because they’d rather insult the families of 3,000 victims than offend the radicals, tax cheats, and criminals who are building the mosque.
By the way, we’re not talking about minor tax problems, either. Sharif El-Gamal owes $224,270.77 in back taxes on the mosque site.
El-Gamal’s company, 45 Park Place Partners, failed to pay its half-yearly bills in January and July, according to the city Finance Department.
The delinquency is a possible violation of El-Gamal’s lease with Con Edison, which owns half of the proposed building site on Park Place. El-Gamal owns the other half but must pay taxes on the entire parcel.
Wait, what? That’s right, El-Gamal doesn’t even own the entire property upon which the mosque will be constructed. The other half is owned by Con Edison, and therefore El-Gamal is required to pay his half-yearly taxes and submit the receipts to Con-Ed.
Something tells me the utility will forgive these contract violations in the name of political correctness. Either that or Bloomberg will pressure the utility into forgiving the violations. Again, in the name of avoiding being labeled “Islamaphobes” by the radical Islamic community.
