Religion of Peace In My Comment Section

by Stephan Tawney on September 6, 2010

On Friday I posted about a prominent Australian Muslim leader who is now calling for the beheading of politicians who criticize Islam, including Geert Wilders of the Netherlands. Here’s one response I received from a Muslim commenter in my comment section:

Feiz doesn’t seem to be a very peaceful Muslim… but wilders isn’t peaceful either… wilders is going for an antiterrorism threat and a propaganda (in his movies), and feiz is answering in aggression… so I think, this is their internal argumentation, we should not care about it!!! internal affair that is!!! And I consider wilders as a terrorist too… But this terrorist is hiding behind politics!

My simple message is to wilders is, if you don’t like death threats, then don’t mess with Muslims!

If you don’t like death threats, don’t mess with Muslims. In other words, stop criticizing Islam or deal with the consequences. Be a good little dhimmi, why don’t ya.

Wilders isn’t doing anything even mildly related to terrorism. He has spoken out against Islam and produced a film, Fitna, that featured unpleasant and inconvenient quotes from the Koran. His act of “terrorism” consists of daring to criticize the Muslim faith. And for that, our Muslim friend tells us, he must deal with the consequences: Death threats.

No other religion reacts in kind. You don’t see Christians or Jews threatening to behead people for daring to criticize the Bible or Torah. And yet whenever someone points that out, he or she is labeled a “bigot” or some other synonym for being closed minded. You can’t observe the truth without getting death threats from one quarter and insults from the other.

For the record, this same commenter owns a blog where he explains that he’s not really with the Taliban but he’s against those governments who have dared to respond to the mass-murder of Americans with attacks against the Taliban. He’s a charmer.
