From the comment section on my post about Joe Sestak’s anti-Israeli record. Commenter “Ali”:
Log live Sestak. Keep fighting the Israeli influence on America. Israeli values are just the opposite of American values. The pro-Isreali elements in America are traitors who sacrifice the American interest over Israel. For example, the Iraq War was a proxy war for Israel which killed 5,000 Americans and took $1 trillion.
Wow. Israeli values of freedom and democracy contradict American values? And further more, people who seek to stand by our ally are traitors? Good to know.
Furthermore, the war in Iraq was simply a proxy war for Israel? And here I was thinking we liberated tens of millions of Iraqis, overthrew a rogue dictator who sponsored global terrorism, and established a democratic ally in a dangerous region of the world. Apparently we reaped no benefit from ridding the world of the “Butcher of Baghdad”.
Incidentally, the war in Iraq has cost 4,418 lives and about $740 billion. So our friend “Ali” was only off by about 582 lives and $260 billion. Not that I was expecting our friend to get his facts even close to being accurate.
