Christine O’Donnell will be the purest conservative loser we’ll nominate this year.

It looks like there’s a real possibility of a major upset in the Delaware Senate primary on Tuesday night, with insurgent conservative Christine O’Donnell leading longtime Congressman and Governor Mike Castle 47-44. That 3 point lead is well within the poll’s margin of error.

Say hello to Senator Chris Coons (D-DE). So we’re throwing away one of the Senate seats up for a vote this year. We’ll end up with another reliable vote for Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama.

But, hey, at least we won’t have to put up with a moderate Republican holding that Senate seat. After all, he might only vote with us most of the time. Christine O’Donnell would vote with us all of the time! You know, if she could actually win. Which she can’t.
