About That New DNC Logo

by Stephan Tawney on September 16, 2010

First of all, DNC Chairman Tim Kaine referred to this as something that would affect the future of the party and excite Democrats across the country. Either he greatly underestimates his party’s membership or Democrats really are that easy to “excite”.

Second, really? They couldn’t find a deeper shade of blue? What, was the UN having a sale on ink? It looks internationalist and weak, which I suppose perfectly represents the national security and foreign policies of the party the logo is supposed to represent.

And I know this is supposed to look minimalist, but have you seen this sucker on DNC merchandise? I won’t link to the party’s website, but take a quick peek if you so please. Half of the people you walk by won’t know what it means, while the other half won’t even notice it. Again, looks small and weak.

Ace has a far more epic take-down than I could ever deliver, so head over there for a few chuckles. Bottom line: This reeks of desperation. You’re on the verge of losing and your party’s base is depressed. So you excite them with a new logo? Sad, really.
