She’s running a write-in campaign because she can’t come to terms with rejection. So she loses her seniority and leadership spot. Conservatives like myself will miss her like a hemorrhoid.
Now, about the write-in campaign. As I’ve said before, she won’t actually win the seat. Momentum for conservatives aside, that would rely on too many people actually writing in “Lisa Murkowksi” instead of pulling the handle for the GOP or Democratic nominee.
However, she can possibly draw enough votes away from Joe Miller to hand a victory to Scott McAdams. Which would put the GOP in some red because the seat is currently held by a semi-reliable Republican (Murkowski). I’m not entirely convinced that’s about to happen but it’s a possibility.
Question for True Conservatives: How is this different from what Christine O’Donnell did in 2006? Murkowski lost her party’s primary so she’s running a write-in campaign. O’Donnell lost her party’s primary in 2006 so she ran a write-in campaign. I’m sure there’s a highly nuanced answer.
