George W. Bush asking religious leaders to sell his agenda would result in calls of theocracy and demands for separation of church and state. Barack Obama asking religious leaders to sell his government-run health care will be seen as just fine by the left and its media allies.
Congratulations, Democrats. The leader of your party has resorted to seeking divine intervention for one of the biggest items on your legislative agenda — an item that you may well lose Congress over. Good thing you trusted this guy’s political instincts, huh?
“The debate in Washington is over, the Affordable Care Act is now law … I think all of you can be really important validators and trusted resources for friends and neighbors, to help explain what’s now available to them,” he said.
Oh, but see, the debate is far from over, champ. Conservatives will set about dismantling your disastrous legislation and instituting actual health care reforms that don’t involve the government running our lives and health. The debate is just beginning.
