Kerry: We’d Be More Popular if Americans Paid Attention

by Stephan Tawney on September 25, 2010

Expect more of this as November approaches.

Just like Peter Jennings announcing that Americans had thrown a temper tantrum when they ejected Democrats from Congress in 1994, Waffles is trying to comfort himself and his allies with the concept that they’d be more popular if only Americans knew what was really going on.

You see, Democrats can’t possibly be unpopular because Americans have seen their policies and don’t like what they see. Democrats can’t possibly be unpopular because their policies have failed spectacularly, either. No, their policies are perfect by default because, hey, they’re Democrats and they know better than you. (Which is also why they want to run your life.)

So when they see Americans preparing to hand the Democratic Party an electoral defeat, it must be because those silly Americans aren’t paying attention. Democrats would totally be popular if you were actually following what was happening. But you weren’t, so you’re too ignorant to know that Democrats and their policies have actually been awesome.

Ah, well. Whatever helps Waffles and his liberal friends sleep at night.
