Here’s the thing, though: It’s Joe Manchin, who’s running for United States Senate in West Virginia and faces a strong challenge in the form of businessman and grassroots conservative John Raese.
Manchin will say anything to convince voters in his state that he’s not a rubber-stamper for the Obama-Pelosi agenda. After all, Obama’s approval rating is just 30% in the conservative Democratic state. Manchin would promise to impeach the president if it would help move voters to his column.
But saying something and actually following through on it are two different animals. Manchin can talk about pushing for a repeal of elements of ObamaCare all he wants during the election, that doesn’t mean he’ll abide by that rhetoric after he’s safely in office. Somehow I doubt Manchin will be the sole Democrat standing up to his caucus just so he’ll have an easier election campaign two years from now.
No, it’s far more likely that he’ll just so happen to forget about that part of his platform or keeps putting off such a push in the interest of “it’s not the right time”. I think you’ll find Manchin adapting to Harry Reid’s form of governance rather quickly. After all, Manchin is currently under federal investigation for corruption. Sounds about right for Washington.

There’s no way Manchin can be trusted to stand in the way of Obama’s agenda:
