The Political World Turned Upside Down

by Stephan Tawney on October 19, 2010

Let’s review.

“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is overturned (for now) thanks to a lawsuit launched by the Log Cabin Republicans. The administration of the Democratic president responds with an appeal to reinstate the policy banning gays from the military.

Liberals in California — a state known for its harboring of illegal aliens thanks to liberal policy — are outraged that a candidate for governor employed an illegal alien and paid her $23 per hour. Republicans come to the defense of said employer.

Out in Kentucky, the Democratic Senate nominee questions his opponent’s conviction to Christ and says his opponent wants to remove religion from government. The Republican responds by defending his conviction to Christ but standing by his concern of religious funding from the federal government.

Some of the nastiest anti-Pelosi ads of the season are coming from Democrats, many of whom are now trying to connect themselves with Republican leaders — including George Bush. Other Democrats are striving for the endorsements of the National Rifle Association and Chamber of Commerce.

And everyone’s talking about the Constitution.

And they say American politics is boring…
