What we do over the next few days will determine the direction of the country over the next few years. We can sit at home and just watch other people get involved in the election, or we can get involved ourselves and actually change the course of history. It’s up to you.
If you want to see Nancy Pelosi set the national agenda for another two years, stay home. If you’re fine with $1.3 trillion deficits and mounting debt, stay home. If you want to see cap-and-trade, stimulus II, card-check, and other far-left legislation pass through Congress and become law, stay home.
But if you want to change the way Washington is doing business, if you want to put the country on a fiscally sound track, if you want to return the political process to the people, it’s time to get active.
Find a local GOP campaign and volunteer to knock on doors and make phone calls. Or sign up to call from home. Or find a GOTV event in your area. If you can’t do any of that, find your local GOP candidate and donate to his campaign. Or, if your local candidate is safe, find a national candidate to help. Like John Raese, Joe Miller, Sharron Angle, and Mark Kirk.
Together, we can take back Congress for the people. We can restore fiscal discipline to the federal government. We can set the course for a brighter future for our children and grandchildren. But we can’t do it by watching TV and eating popcorn. We need to get active, we need to get involved, and we need to get voters to the polling place.
We have just eight days to go before polls close. Let’s get moving.
