Alaska Election Board Provides Write-in List to Help Murkowski

The corruption in Alaska is strong.

The Alaska Division of Elections has come under fire for providing a list of certified write-in candidates to voters at polling places, an unprecedented move that critics suggest was done to aid Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who is running as a write-in.

The state Republican and Democratic parties have joined to sue the Division of Elections to force the agency to stop providing the list, the Anchorage Daily News reported Tuesday.

Of course it’s being done to help Murkowski. The list has never been handed out before, but suddenly daddy’s little girl runs as a write-in candidate and the Division of Elections helpfully reminds voters of how to spell her name.

“This is purely designed to provide assistance to voters, and there is no advocacy aspect to this list,” Paton-Walsh said, according to the Daily News. “The write-in list is shown only to voters who request assistance with a write-in candidate.”

It’s just a coincidence that the first year they’re providing the list is the year in which Murkowski is running as a write-in candidate. Pure coincidence, I tell ya! On a related note, I have ocean-front property in Wyoming to sell you. It’s marked down now for quick sale.

We’ll find out today if the state judge involved will allow the practice to move forward. I’m betting he will. Like I said, the corruption in Alaska is strong.
