The campaign of Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) wanted California teachers to provide students for volunteer work on the campaign, according to a memo acquired by Big Government.
The letter, which can be found at the link, is printed on official letterhead. It asks teachers to have students volunteer on the campaign, noting that Boxer faces her toughest re-election campaign yet.
Furthermore, the letter asks teachers to show their students a campaign video located on the official campaign website. The video, found here, features Barack Obama endorsing Boxer for re-election. The page also features a form for people to sign up for GOTV efforts.
The Boxer campaign has acknowledged the authenticity of the letter and says it apologizes, though insists the letter was not partisan — odd considering its clearly partisan nature. Apparently the campaign’s closing strategy includes insulting the intelligence of voters.
