Dude, that’s low.
Just before Rep. Michael McMahon (D-NY) and challenger Michael Grimm (R) took the stage for their debate, the Staten Island Advance notes “there was high drama unfolding in the audience: The sudden presence of Grimm’s former wife in a front-row seat — courtesy of the McMahon campaign.”
“Also, Grimm’s former father-in-law, businessman Jhong Uhk Kim, better known as ‘Master Kim,’ and two of his former brothers-in-law… The apparent goal: To psych out Grimm.”
Luckily it didn’t work. Grimm made light of the situation, saying she looked as beautiful as the day he met her, and that it was a pleasure to see them both in the audience.
For the record, Michael Grimm is a decorated veteran of the Marine Corps, having served in the Gulf War. He’s running a brave campaign against McMahon, the first-term tax-and-spend congressman representing New York’s 13th district. Grimm has been pulling closer in recent weeks but still faces an uphill battle.
