Americans have little use for the current roster of the national legislature. They’d rather just kick the bums out and start all over with a new slate of legislators.
In a new poll released by Rasmussen Reports, a full 65% of likely voters say they would replace everyone in Congress if they could. Just 20% say they’d keep everyone currently in Congress, in Congress. And, remarkably, 15% of likely voters say they’re not sure.
Once again, Republicans and Independents find themselves on the same side of the issue. 82% of Republicans and 78% of Independents would replace everyone. Just 38% of Democrats agree, with 44% saying they’d keep the current legislators.
38% of likely voters have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party after four years of control of Congress and two years of controlling both the White House and Congress. 53% view the Democratic Party unfavorably.
