Reid: The Media Has Gone “Easy” on Sharron Angle

Yeah, okay, whatever it takes to suppress the tears, Harry. Oh, and apparently she also speaks in a secret code. Or something.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) accused the media on Thursday evening of being “easy” on his Republican challenger, Sharron Angle.

Reid accused Angle of speaking in “code words” in reference to some of her positions on entitlement programs like Social Security, and jabbed at the media for not fully probing her views.

“Never have I run against someone who speaks in code words that are not explainable,” Reid said during an appearance on MSNBC. “And I have to say, the press has given her a pretty easy go.”

On a related note, a new Mason-Dixon poll finds Sharron Angle leading Harry Reid 49-45. That’s pretty consistent with other recent polls on the race. The last Mason-Dixon survey had Angle up by 2, so this latest update has her gaining steam.

To quote the pollster:

Reid just can’t get much above 45 percent, and she’s carrying the independents. I haven’t seen a poll showing him up since the debate. That might have been when things started to lock in. I think the odds are pretty good that Angle’s going to win.

Nate Silver now says Angle has a 77.2% of victory. Though obviously all of that only matters on two conditions: 1) Reid’s people don’t manage to steal the election, and 2) Angle’s people don’t get so over-confident that they stay home on election day.
