Democrats totally would have won had it not been for those outside Republican groups with their secret money. Never mind the fact that Democratic groups have actually outspent their Republican counterparts in key races. Or that unions have had no problem keeping up with opposition spending.

A nation of two-year-olds

In 1994, Peter Jennings told the nation that Democrats were thrown from power because voters were like two-year-olds who threw a temper tantrum. Expect a similar line tonight or tomorrow. We voters are just irrational children who refused to give Democrats their due credit.

Racists!!1!

See, we voted out a crowd of predominately white Democrats because we’re racists who hate Obama. Or something. Whatever the problem Democrats have, it can be explained away by labeling voters “racist”.

The Failed Messenger

The left-wing message would have been just as popular this time around if only Barack Obama and his allies had better sold it. As if one more town hall or commercial would have saved those defeated Democrats.

Democrats Were Too Darn Smart

An extension of the “failed messenger” argument. Democrats were just too cerebral for ordinary voters. They should have taken more time to explain how wonderfully intelligent they have been to date.
