Voters in Florida have overwhelmingly approved a nonbinding referendum that calls for a federal balanced budget amendment. The text of the referendum was pretty clear:
In order to stop the uncontrolled growth of our national debt and prevent excessive borrowing by the Federal Government, which threatens our economy and national security, should the United States Constitution be amended to require a balanced federal budget without raising taxes?
Of the 4,799,311 voters who made their voice heard on the referendum, a whopping 3,449,944 voters approved. The final margin of victory was 71.88% in favor to 28.12% against.
Florida is not a deep red state. It gave its electoral votes to Barack Obama in 2008, is currently represented by a Democratic senator, came close to electing a Democratic governor, and is closely watched in every presidential election.
And yet these same voters overwhelmingly want the federal budget balanced without raising taxes. Hopefully that will send a message to Washington that voters want to cut federal spending and restore fiscal sanity. Those who stand in the way may very well find themselves unemployed two years from now.

FYI: This email has been sent to 5600 State Legislators. It is imperative that you help us make a binding Call for a Balanced Federal Budget Amendment through your State Legislature.

THE HONORABLE STATE LEGISLATOR:
The fate of America is in your hands. Please take this email seriously. You are now the final arbiter for America’s Constitutional future.
THE STATES ALONE HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO RECLAIM THEIR STATES RIGHTS AND CIVIL LIBERTIES.
The States alone determine the purpose, agenda and terms of a Federal Convention, not Congress. Even the Convention itself does not have final authority to control the deliberations at the Convention. When the Calling States enter into a binding contract through their Legislative Calls on Congress, the parameters of the deliberations at the Convention are predetermined (in the same way denominations organize their conventions to safely prevent delegates from introducing proposals that would change or void their Constitutions).
This Constitutional authority, which rests in State Legislatures and given to the States by our Founders, is the States’ most powerful vehicle for safely RECLAIMING AMERICA through “SINGLE ISSUE” Federal Conventions. The States are, in fact, the final arbitrator of selected Constitutional issues. I pray that the States will not be deceived by flawed legal and Constitutional reasoning that has paralyzed State Legislatures for the last forty years. State Legislators must not ignore the authority they have to reclaim America’s Christian/Judeo history through “Single Issue Federal Conventions”. This authority was given to the States by our founders in Article V and Article IV, Section 4 of the United States Constitution.

Our work to establish fiscal sanity in America is an imperative. Americans now owe $14 trillion in monies borrowed and $60 trillion plus in unfunded liabilities. Our debt is growing at $1.7 trillion a year. Every man, woman and child in America owes $47,000 plus interest. THIS IS INSANITY AND MUST BE STOPPED. You can find more information about the Balanced Federal Budget Amendment and 19 other Amendments at: http://citizeninitiatives.org. I have provided the following links to download the necessary documents for the Balanced Federal Budget Amendment:
BALANCED FEDERAL BUDGET AMENDMENT

Legislators will also receive an ebook of RECLAIMING AMERICA through SINGLE ISSUE Federal Conventions. We plan to send thousands of copies to every State Legislator in the 50 States. We view this book as America’s 21st Century Federalist Papers that will educate State legislators on how they alone hold the key to reclaiming America back to our Christian/Judeo heritage and Constitutional mandates. We will also be conducting Legislative Seminars at the Capitals in each State to address and answer questions from legislators. Softcover copies can be ordered at http://www.Amazon.com (ISBN 978-0-9723007-4-2, author Charles Kacprowicz).
On a limited basis I am available for speaking engagements.

We have much work to do. We have enough supportive legislators across the country to succeed in making Congress obey the mandates of a Constitutional Amendment that requires a balanced federal budget. Congress will have the choice of sending the Amendment to the States for ratification voluntarily, or be force to convene a “Single Issue” Balanced Federal Budget Convention. See your State’s “Legislative Call” that will determine the terms, conditions and agenda of a convened Convention. Join us in the only strategy that can succeed in permanently protecting and returning America to a sound fiscal policy.
A debtor nation cannot long remain free! We must be a creditor nation once again!

P.S. We are inviting you to help us advance the Call in your State. Your knowledge and wisdom is also needed for framing other Amendments that we are advancing, especially the States’ Rights Amendment. We would like your recommendations as to the best way to schedule Legislative Seminars at your Capital. I would like to hear from you ASAP. We have little time to return America to a sound fiscal policy.
