In one of her last official roles as Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is planning to light the Capitol’s Christmas tree during a Dec. 7 ceremony on the West Front lawn, according to the Architect of the Capitol’s (AoC) office.

And you’ll be glad to know that the tree, brought in from Wyoming, will be lit with LED lights so as to conserve energy. Because that will totally make up for the carbon emissions from the travels of Madame Speaker’s massive, heavily-used jet.
