Minnesota Couple: Vote on Whether We Should Abort our Child

by Stephan Tawney on November 18, 2010

Good Lord. I hope this is a prank, or maybe an attempt by a pro-life couple to show how flippant we treat abortions these days. But I’m not sure it’s either one of those possibilities. This is Minnesota — the only state to vote for Mondale in ’84 and the constituency that elected Governor Jesse Ventura. Strange things are known to happen there.

In fact, Gawker — which is noticeably disgusted — asked the couple if it was a prank or stunt. The couple insists it’s no such thing:

That someone would do this is almost impossible to believe, of course. We asked the Arnolds if this was some sort of a prank. “No, it’s not. We are taking this very seriously,” Pete replied. We then asked if this was some sort of convoluted pro-life stunt. Alisha laughed. “It’s definitely not a pro-life campaign,” she said. “I believe in a woman’s right to choose.

Let’s hope they’re lying.
