There are currently seven Republican members of the United States Senate who are considering voting for amnesty for illegal aliens. Michelle Malkin provides the list and contact details here.
They’re the usual suspects: John McCain, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Sam Brownback, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, and George Lemieux.
Basically the squishes who lack the backbone to say “no” to Democrats except on the most egregious, far-left, massively unpopular legislation. Opposing amnesty for illegal aliens? Why, that’s not nice.
Never mind the fact that we have 9.6% unemployment and countless jobs are being occupied by people who entered the country illegally. Never mind that. It’s just not nice to oppose amnesty for illegal aliens.
And by the way, don’t believe that bullcrap about the DREAM Act being only available to children. That’s a nice, touching angle. But it’s a lie. Via Senator Jeff Sessions:
Proponents of the DREAM Act frequently claim the bill offers relief only to illegal alien “kids.” Incredibly, previous versions of the DREAM Act had no age limit at all, so illegal aliens of any age who satisfied the Act’s requirements—not just children—could obtain lawful permanent resident (LPR) status. In response to this criticism, S.3827 includes a requirement that aliens be under the age of 35 on the date of enactment to be eligible for LPR status. Even with this cap, many aliens would be at least 41 years old before obtaining full LPR status under the Act—hardly the “kids” the Act’s advocates keep talking about.
I don’t know many 41-year-old children. And guess who gets to pay for benefits for these illegal aliens? You got it.
The DREAM Act requires that DHS/USCIS process all DREAM Act applications (applications that would require complex, multi-step adjudication) without being able to increase fees to handle processing. This mandate would require either additional Congressional appropriations, or for USCIS, a primarily fee-funded agency, to raise fees on other types of immigration benefit applications. This would unfairly spread the cost of administering the DREAM Act legalization program among applicants and petitioners who have abided by U.S. laws and force taxpayers to pay for amnesty. Taxpayers would also be on the hook for all Federal benefits the DREAM Act seeks to offer illegal aliens, including student loans and grants.
And wait, there’s more! See, the legislation doesn’t differentiate between criminal and non-criminal illegal aliens. The illegal alien in question have a 42-page long criminal record? He’ll be welcome. It’s effectively a safe harbor for illegal aliens. Even those who don’t qualify can submit applications and tie the system up for years.
Call your senator and then the senators on the list. Tell them to oppose amnesty for illegal aliens. Tell them to oppose the DREAM Act.

I absolutely CANNOT believe what our elected officials are doing to this country. I am 64 yrs. old and for the past couple of years have lived in total shock over the “state” our country is in. I know this has been swept under the carpet for years, and I am so sorry that I was so caught up in my own life that I dismissed it. Back in 1987 I could not find a job because I didn’t speak spanish – (newspaper ads read “Spanish speaking only need apply) – I live in Orando,FL. We are surrounded by these rude, loud mouth ingrates. For YEARS, I could not get a job! I retired at the age of 62 to get out of the public mainly because of these people. I am ASHAMED of Barack Obama – I’m embarrassed that this idiot is the president of the United States of America!! He is the most piss poor excuse of a human being our creator has EVER put on this earth. What he is doing to this great country should be Treason!
Mechelle Malkin – I love you and your candor – keep up the great work.
