In which already-sleazy people become even sleazier. They’ve already attacked Mastercard and Visa, taking down their websites, for refusing to allow their services to be used in the pursuit of illegal activity. Now they’re stealing the credit card information of private individuals and trying to crash political action committees.
The website and personal credit card information of former Gov. Sarah Palin were cyber-attacked today by Wikileaks supporters, the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate tells ABC News in an email.
Hackers in London apparently affiliated with “Operation Payback” – a group of supporters of Julian Assange and Wikileaks – have tried to shut down SarahPac and have disrupted Sarah and Todd Palin’s personal credit card accounts.
Sarah Palin is a private individual not holding any political office. Her powers right now are limited to speaking her mind through the protection of the First Amendment. Apparently supporters of Wikileaks defend free speech just so long as it’s exercised by anti-American creeps seeking to take down the country’s national security and diplomatic structure.
Authorities need to locate and prosecute the individuals behind this attack. Such activity can not be tolerated. They’ve gone beyond an attack on government. They’ve moved on to attacking private individuals and private sector companies. That’s not acceptable.
