The Wall Street Journal reports that most Republicans oppose ratifying the START treaty, which restricts the ability of the United States to defend itself. But there are a few who have expressed support for the disastrous treaty. They are:
- Senator Olympia Snowe (R-ME)
- Senator Susan Collins (R-ME)
- Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC)
- Senator John McCain (R-AZ)
- Senator Scott Brown (R-MA)
- Senator George Voinovich (R-OH)
- Senator Bob Corker (R-TN)
- Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA)
- Senator Robert Bennet (R-UT)
Two of these senators (Voinovich and Bennet) will be leaving in January and should not be voting on a treaty. Ratification should be left to the new duly-elected representatives in the United States Senate. The rest are apparently more interested in supporting Obama’s foreign policy agenda than protecting the United States in the 21st century.
