REMINDER: TOYS FOR TOTS DRIVE ENDS SOON

by Stephan Tawney on December 16, 2010

It’s nearing Christmas and this year will be particularly difficult for millions of American families — many of which will be unable to put presents under the tree for their children. You know where this is going.

Toys for Tots, the program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, seeks to fill that need by collecting donations of both cash and presents to provide those families with presents for the kids.

Time is running out, though. I’m told some, if not all, solid present donations are cut off tomorrow. So if you can donate a present, go here and find a drop-off location.

If you’d like to make a cash donation instead, go here. Your money is used very wisely, with a full 96% of all money going to the core mission of giving presents. Just 4% goes to administrative costs. You can donate via credit card, through Paypal, by mail, and via eBay. You can also donate a vehicle or in the name of a loved one.

We’ve got to help the kids. I’m a conservative. I believe charity belongs more in the private sector than public sector. This helps me stay consistent. I’d ask my fellow conservatives to help the cause, too.
