The first step towards total amnesty, the DREAM Act, will come up for a vote tomorrow. This bill needs to be stopped. Not only does it reward illegal activity but it would massively expand the Democratic voting base — which is its true purpose.
Democrats can’t continue their reckless tax-and-spend policies and still regain the support of the current electorate. So they hope to change the composition of the electorate by adding millions of voters likely to support Democratic causes.
But that’s not really the point. The point is this: It’s not acceptable for the federal government to reward illegal border crossings with amnesty for individuals up to the age of 40. This is the first step towards full amnesty, and it’s a pretty damn big step at that.
The legislation has already passed the Democratic-controlled House and now faces approval or rejection by the Senate. That’s where we come in. It’s time to call members of the Senate and tell them to stop this bill. I’ve included the most important numbers to call:
Bob Bennet (R-UT): (202) 224-5444
Dick Lugar (R-IN): (202) 224-4814
