Taxpayer-Funded PBS Glorifies Socialist Cuban Health Care System

by Stephan Tawney on December 27, 2010

But of course. Michael Moore is hardly the only lefty who admires Castro’s health care system. Liberals have long strived to convert the successful free market system here in the United States into a socialist alternative, whether their models are European or Cuban.

Meanwhile, it’s not like PBS’ political bias was unknown. Remember Gwen Ifill, the PBS host who was writing a pro-Obama book around the same time she was chosen to moderate a vice-presidential debate between Palin and Biden? And her liberal bias is the norm — not the exception — at the taxpayer-funded outlet.

PBS is effectively a taxpayer-funded MSNBC. Actually, no, it’s worse because it sells itself as a non-partisan educational outlet rather than a cable network that has a slogan hinting at its leanings. It’s expected that you can trust PBS because PBS just says what it sees, as if it’s a television version of the Congressional Budget Office.

Mary O’Grady of the Wall Street Journal takes the fairy tale apart, in case you needed yet another debunking of the grand socialist myth.
