He’s a convicted felon who’s been in and out of prison for the past twenty years on charges ranging from theft and robbery to drug possession and forgery. His most recent run-in with police was in July 2010. Well, his most recent…until now.
LOS ANGELES ( KTLA) — Ted Williams, the homeless man with the golden voice, was detained by Los Angeles police after a disturbance at a Hollywood hotel.
Williams was briefly detained Monday night along with his daughter after the two got into a heated argument at the Renaissance Hotel, LAPD Hollywood division officials said.
Police say they received a disturbance call around 9 p.m. Monday.
Williams and his daughter were brought down to the station for questioning.
Officer Catherine Massey says the two were released about an hour later after officers calmed them down. No arrests were made.
You’d think a man whose criminal history has been revealed to the nation would avoid trouble for at least a few weeks — or at least long enough to begin work. While he wasn’t arrested this time, it’s obviously part of a pattern of difficult he has with avoiding legal issues. His new-found celebrity isn’t likely to help break that pattern.
